It's gettin' big

It is that time again. High flows. duh, duh, duh. Okay, so it's not really that bad. What happens is that the Bureau of Reclamation bumps flows on the Green, to simulate spring runoff. In order to stimulate the spawn for the Colorado Pike Minnow. So great.

But contrary to popular belief. The fishing is not killed, just made different. The fish tend to go deep and chill, get used to the new flows. But once they have been there for a bit, they will get back in to feeding regularly again. It's just a matter of finding where they are.

Update... The cicadas are making a slight, ever so slight appearance. Could we be looking at three years in a row... I hope so..

Love the Green - grew up in Utah - and miss fishing that stretch of water: may have to make a trip out there this year for old time's sake. Look forward to seeing any pics you might get over the next few months...which will only drive me even more crazy with river envy.
